Yet another Monday morning
I’m on my bed whining
How hard it’s to get up
And start for a day’s sit-up.
Then reminded my soul, of hundreds
Fresh in mind and body
Still Searching their first Job,
Thank You GOD for the Job you had given me.
In front of my Wardrobe to pick a dress
And give them a gentle press
Without another option, half-heartedly
Chose my not so favourite.
Then reminded my soul, of thousands
Faint in mind and body
Still having nothing to cover themselves
Thanks You GOD for the Clothes you had given me.
Seated in the Dining table
Filled with variety of food
Yet complained i
For not preparing my favourite fry.
Then reminded my soul of millions
Deprived of a square meal a day
Still living with the faintest of hopes
Thank you GOD for the wonderful Food you had given me.
Ran to catch the Public transport
Jam packed with people of all kind
I wish I had my own vehicle
Complained I, cursing the crowd.
Then reminded my soul of hundreds
Who walked several miles
Only to work under sun all the day long
Thank you GOD for the money you had given me.
Rushed towards my office
Having got down from the bus
In the road was a crowd
In curiosity did I peep in.
To see a man lying dead
Something had run him down
It spoiled my mood for the day Yet thanked I,
Thank you GOD for the LIFE that you had given me.
Seated in Air conditioned comfort
I Recall all my complaints of lifetime
That I made all these days long
Now I do realize, I’m miles away
Even from the least worse things on earth.
God hasn’t given me less that I would curse him
God hasn’t given me more that I would forget him
Thank you GOD for giving me ENOUGH that I feel Thankful now.
